I am currently working on my Family Genealogy Group page for Facebook. In doing so I realized I have a tremendous amount of photos. I decided to feature one a week. No, not everyone is “perfect” however, they are to me!

This week I am showcasing my paternal Great Grandfather, Hamilton Hayes (1856-1906). Hamilton was raised on a farm in Tazewell, Claiborne Co., Tennessee. He moved to Missouri with his family when he was 13 years. After getting married he purchased his own farm in Cass Co. Missouri. I think that he looks very dapper in this photo. Looking at it, you would never guess that he had farmed all his life because he looks like a professional businessman. He had been born into a well-to-do family so he had grown up having nice suits. I think he is very handsome in this photo.
I am a professional genealogist, writer, photographer, wife, mother, and grandma. I have written two books “Your Family History: Doing It Right the First Time” and “Planning Your Genealogy Research Trip”, both available on Amazon. You can also connect with me on Facebook and Twitter @VHughesAuthor.
I need to do this (feature photos I have) instead of waiting to find a BIG story. Not every person has a dramatic incident in their life.
That is why I do it! Besides, one day I may make a book out of my blogs and these photos may bring extra meaning to it. Thanks for reading the blog.
