I am currently working on my Family Genealogy Group page for Facebook. In doing so I realized I have a tremendous amount of photos. I decided to feature one a week. No, not everyone is “perfect” however, they are to me!
This week I am showcasing two of my paternal 2nd cousins once removed, Cora and Dollie Simcosky. This photo was taken about 1903 in Parsons, Kansas. Cora, on the left, is the older of the two being born about 15 months before Dollie. I adore the way they are dressed. Their high-waisted skirts with the pleats, give them the appearance of being tall. Cora has on elbow length gloves that look like as though they are made of leather. Dollie has a very stylish choker around her neck. I think the best part of their outfits are their hats. Dollie’s seems to be covered with roses and a few other items, however I can’t tell what they may be. Cora’s has an very large bow on it. This photo just makes me smile. They must have been the belles of any ball!
