I am currently working on my Family Genealogy Group page for Facebook. In doing so I realized I have a tremendous amount of photos. I decided to feature one a week. No, not everyone is “perfect” however, they are to me!
This week I am showcasing my 3rd cousin 1 time removed, Georgia Hipster (1900-1920). This photo was taken on her wedding day on May 24, 1917. She graduate High School in June 1917 shortly before marrying her High School sweetheart, Walton Ratliff (1893-1920) in Cass County, Missouri. She looks so pretty but she also looks nervous. They had a daughter on July 18, 1918. Tragically, she and Walton contracted influenza during the Spanish flu pandemic that lasted from February 1918 to April 1920. They died one-day apart leaving their daughter, Lola in the care of Georgia’s parents.
